INTELLIGENT VIDEO FOR COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES WHERE PEOPLE GATHER

Planned around busy arrivals, long quiet stretches, and the areas in between.

Commercial properties where people gather

Some commercial properties are built around gatherings, not steady business hours.

Most commercial properties keep a steady rhythm: open, busy, closed. Others are built around people arriving together and leaving together. Houses of worship and private schools are two examples: short, busy arrival windows, then long quiet stretches, with evenings and weekends that look nothing like a weekday morning.

We design intelligent video for these properties the same way we do for any residential or commercial property: start with the site and how it is actually used, then place cameras around that. This page walks through what that looks like when people gather.

Arrivals, parking, and drop-off and pick-up flow

When many people arrive at once, the parking lot and the approaches see much of the activity. We look at where vehicles enter and leave, where they line up, where drop-off and pick-up happen, and the walking paths from parked cars to the entrances people actually use — which are not always the ones shown on the plan.

Cameras placed along that flow record the comings and goings in a way that is easy to follow later, from the lot entry to the door. For approaches by day and by night, see daylight driveways and night approaches.

Between gatherings

The quiet stretches matter too.

Between busy windows, these properties can sit quiet for long stretches: weekday afternoons, late evenings, holidays. Deliveries and vendors still come and go, often to a side or rear entrance, and the lot may be empty for hours.

That is where cameras that record and notify can be useful. Intelligent-video alerts can be focused on areas that matter after hours, such as a service entrance or the back of the lot, so the people you choose get a notification and can review the footage. Shared spaces, with respect for the people in them

Properties where people gather have shared spaces — entrances, walkways, courtyards, parking — and private ones. We focus cameras on exterior and shared areas. We do not place cameras in private areas such as restrooms or changing areas.

Framing matters too: keep views focused on your property’s approaches and entrances rather than neighboring properties. If privacy or signage questions come up, check the requirements that apply to your property.

For entrances, amenities, and shared parking at residential communities, see planning cameras for HOA and multi-unit common areas.

Footage that is easy to review

When something needs a second look — a scrape in the parking lot, a missing delivery, an after-hours visitor — the people responsible for the property want to find the right stretch of footage quickly. Overlapping views at entrances and in the lot, and framing that keeps the important part of the scene in view, make that review simpler. For placement in more depth, see how we plan camera placement.

Planning around how your property is used?

Tell us how the property is used: when people arrive, where they park, when it goes quiet, and what is not working today. We will walk the site with that in mind and suggest a design from there.
